Mobile Service

In-home physiotherapy gives you a convenient, private and effective way to recover.  I am a Registered Physiotherapist providing physiotherapy services in your home, gym, office, hospital room, or extended care facility.  And yes, if you have physiotherapy covered under your extended medical insurance, this service is covered.  Please check with your insurer for more details.

I use evidence-based physiotherapy treatments to build an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to your problem and your goals.  I use a combination of many physiotherapy tools which may include:

Mobilization, manipulation, traction of joints.
I use acupuncture as an adjunct treatment for appropriate cases. I am certified by Acupuncture Canada and hold the ACC level II certification.
Acupuncture stimulates the balance and flow of Qi energy that in Traditional Chinese Medicine is considered essential to health. When the body is healthy, Qi (pronounced chee), flows smoothly through the meridians that make up a conceptual network of pathways throughout the entire body. In western medicine the yin/yang balance acupuncture achieves is known as homeostasis. When the balance or flow of Qi is deficient or obstructed it may be diseased or susceptible to illness. Acupuncture treats both the symptoms and the root causes of the patient’s illness.

How does it work?

Acupuncture is a safe and effective alternative to medication and, in some cases, surgery. It stimulates the release of endorphins – the body’s natural pain-relieving neurohormones – through the insertion of needles into specific anatomical points (acupuncture points) to encourage natural healing.
Therapeutic effects include:
  • Pain relief
  • Increased energy
  • Improved mood
  • Improved body function

Is it covered by my insurance plan?

Yes, if you have extended health benefits, the use of acupuncture as a treatment tool is covered by your insurance company. To find out details of how much your insurance covers, please contact your insurance company.

Who should have acupuncture?

After a thorough physical assessment, your physiotherapist will decide with your consent if acupuncture may be helpful as an additional treatment modality. Whether you’re recovering from an acute or chronic musculoskeletal problem, sports injury or arthritic pain, acupuncture can help. Acupuncture is often used as an adjunct to other treatments.
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue. Connective tissues called fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Points of restriction in fascia can place unnecessary pressure on these structures causing pain. Because fascia permeates all regions of the body and is interconnected, when it scars and hardens in one area (following injury, inflammation, disease, surgery, etc.), it can put tension on adjacent pain-sensitive structures as well as on structures in far-away areas. The goal of fascia release is to improve circulation, reduce adhesion, eliminate pain and restore motion.
This may include strength/balance training, stretching, and learning new movement patterns. Where appropriate a detailed description of the exercises, including number of repetitions and frequency will be given to you in order for you to have something to refer to when practicing them on your own.
I have a portable Ultrasound, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and Muscle stimulation machines for appropriate cases.
Educating a patient about the nature of their injury, what to expect during our sessions and how long the expected course of rehabilitation will be.
